A Visual Journey Through Some of My Recent Weddings
For some time now I've had this idea to post, not just one picture from a wedding, like I do in my blog, but a collection of photos. Everyone likes photos, so that's one reason, and I thought that I could showcase some photographer's work - and many of the various venues. You can look through these photos if you're still looking for the perfect venue, and "walk through" it without being there. Please take a look at what I'm trying to do, and let me know what you think. Pastor Bill

Tara's and Matt's wedding at Terrace on the Park in Queens Everyone enjoyed a glorious evening at this gorgeous venue overlooking Queens and more. The couple sparkled, and they and I and the guests all enjoyed a special night. This was my first outdoor wedding at Terrace on the Park, and I was amazing at how beautiful the outdoor venue was. It was a special night of beauty and joy. So glad to be a part.
Tannis and Manuele in Manhattan Tannis is an American, and Manuele lives in Florence, Italy. They love both places, but chose New York City for their wedding. I'm glad they did, because it was great to get to know them (a SKYPE interview), and to be a part of their special day. (Thanks for the beautiful photos to Brian Freed - www.bfreedweddings.com.)
Maria and Brian's wedding at Oheka Castle It was my pleasure to officiate for Maria and Brian in May of 2012 at Oheka Castle. As you can see from the photos of Joe Craig, it was a beautiful day at what is always a magnificent setting. It was my pleasure to get to know this couple, and to serve them on their very special day. By all accounts, I think the wedding was a success in every way - as you can sense from the photos. Maria and Brian, I wish you a lifetime of happiness together.
Ariana's and David's wedding at Westbury Manor Westbury Manor's outdoor setting is particularly beautiful and serene - it's like a mini-botanical garden. As you can see in the photos, the ceremony area is beautiful and practical. It was my pleasure to get to know Ariana and David. We really connected when we met to discuss their wedding.I was also happy to be able to officiate for them on their special day, which generated lots of appreciation from family and guests alike. May God's blessing be upon you both.
Kristen's and Anthony's wedding at the Snapper Inn in Oakdale It was a beautiful day at the Snapper Inn, and the waterfront location made it easy to capture really nice photographs. The bride was a little nervous at first, but everything went smoothly. You can see the joy in the pictures. Here's the note I received from the couple on their two month anniversary:
Dear Pastor Bill, Today marks two months since you married Kristen and I. Again, we can't thank you enough for being there for us and made our day extra special!! Your professionalism, patience, and knowledge made each step and our day easier. We were so happy that we had you marry us, we could not of asked for anyone better. Thank you again and be well!! Renae and Omar's Wedding at Stewart Manor Country Club in Garden City Renae and Omar had a beautiful night and a wedding that went just right at Stewart Manor Country Club in Garden City. I like the way that the Maitre'D cares for the couples there, and the wedding room conveys intimacy and warmth, even though it's large. I enjoyed mingling with the crowd, and I am glad to have met this couple. All the best to you, Renae and Omar!
Susanne & Michael's Wedding @ Land's End in Sayville It was a very nice September day at Land's End in Sayville - one of my favorite places, and I wanted to share the pictures that Susanne and Michael were able to take in that beautiful location. It was an enjoyable day for me, some time with the couple and their friends, the ceremony itself, time connecting with Janelle Brooke, the photographer who shot these great photos, and also with Janet King, a well-known Long Island harpist, whom I've written about already on this site.
Theresa and John at the Thatched Cottage in Centerport My planning meeting with Theresa and John was a lot of fun, and that spirit carried over into the wedding. It was a beautiful winter day, as you can see from the photos, and a gorgeous venue for a winter wedding. The couple and their families were happy, which is the acid test. This was my first wedding where the groom wore a kilt - and he pulled it off! (not literally!) And, did I say that the bride was beautiful? A good day. Tiffany and Jeff at the Federal Building on Wall Street This great couple brought family members and friends from the mid-West for an unusual outdoor wedding on Wall Street - and then out for some famous NY pizza. The Manhattan crowd was sensitive and enthusiastic - and many were filming us. I wouldn't be surprised if the wedding is out there on Youtube. These great photos were shot by Carlos Castillo (Carloscastillo.net), who was creative, professional, and easy to work with. It was a fun day, and the wedding ended up being just what the couple and their family wanted. Tiffany wrote later that "My family and Jeff's family thought you were great. We would recommend you to anyone."
James and Monica at Wagner Cove in Central Park James and Monica married at Wagner Cove in Central Park. It's in the area of the Park near Strawberry Fields and Bethesda Fountain - and near the Ladies Pavilion - another favorite Central Park location for a wedding. Beautiful day and location. Everything perfect. (These great photos are courtesy of Sasha Felix (http://www.sashafelix.com/).
Azeb and Randy at Queens' Botanical Garden Azeb and Randy married at Queen's Botanical Garden - the new version, renovated after hurricanes in the neighborhood took down some beautiful, big trees. The result is not only new but much improved, with an "aisle" now, and just a more workable space. Azeb and Randy found me at the last minute - I was an emergency replacement - and it worked out great.
Cassandra's and Timothy's Wedding at Bedel Cellars in Cutchogue Cassandra and Timothy married in Cutchogue at Bedel Cellars, a beautiful winery. The vineyards are beautiful there, and you can sort of see a working winery - reminded me of scenes from the TV show "Brothers and Sisters." It was a glorious day weather-wise, and the couple was special.
